Do I Need A Fire Risk Assesment?

All business premises and any domestic premises with a shared communal area must have a fire risk assessment carried out by law - the law that stipulates this requirement is the "Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005" which you may find more commonly referred to as the "RRO" or "Fire Safety Order 2005".

02

Is it really a law?

YES! There are many examples of landlords, business owners and other examples of the responsible person being convicted of breaching fire safety laws and receiving fines and even prison sentences.

Read the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

03

Why is it important to ensure the competency of a fire risk assessor?

It is the responsible persons responsibility to ensure they appoint a competent fire risk assessor, and it is your responsibility should the failings of a fire risk assessment land you in court - even if you appointed a fire risk assessor in "good faith" - we take the worry out of this, as all of our fire risk assessors have formal qualifications in fire risk assessment and are members of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE). Don't be afraid to ask your fire risk assessor to prove their competency, as it is your responsibility to do so!

We pride ourselves on our BlueSky fire door installation accreditation.

We are 3rd Party Accredited by BlueSky for our fire door installations under their UKAS scheme, which is critical when comparing other providers - if they are not a registered installer under a UKAS scheme, they will not be accredited to the same standards we uphold.

Trusted Competent Installation Team

BlueSky check our installation teams competency, our audit records and our on site installations to ensure we consistently meet and exceed the standards expected of an accredited fire door installer.

Alternative schemes to BlueSky are available, including BM Trada and FIRAS.

BlueSky is a trusted name within fire door accreditation and is recognised by almost all insurers, councils, local authority and many additional schemes such as NHBC, Secured By Design and many others.
